date. 2018

team members.  Connie Anne Dodgshon, Sergi Capdevila Arp, Keshav Jagen, Francois Costa, Jiachen Yu.

description. The goal of this team project is to program a robotic arm to play the game of “Pong” against a person. The robot used is the FRANKA Emika robotic arm (nicknamed “Panda”) as it is more precise in positioning and faster than DE NIRO. The outcome of the project will be demonstrated by performing an autonomous game of pong between a person and the robot. The problem was broken down into four main components: perception, prediction, calibration and control. Perception is carried out through the use of a high-speed webcam and openCV, prediction by projecting the ball’s trajectory, calibration through linear regression and control by using the FRANKA Emika control interface.
